Molecules belonging to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that inhibit COX2 enzyme, which is involved in inflammation and pain processes. It was found that this enzyme is also involved in the growth of cancer cells. The FDA has approved a drug called “Celebrex” for FAP, a condition that raises the risk of colorectal cancer (see family polyposis).
