A white blood cell (leukocyte) produced in the bone marrow and found in blood and lymph tissue. There are two main types of lymphocytes: B and T lymphocytes. B lymphocytes produce antibodies, T lymphocytes help in killing tumor cells. T lymphocytes can activate B lymphocytes to start producing antibodies against a specific target.
