Physical examination of the vagina, cervix, uterus, tubular tubes, ovaries and anus. Vagina examination is performed by inserting a speculum device to expand the vagina and cervix. The collected samples can be used for a Pap test, or for testing sexually transmitted diseases or other infections. During the examination, the doctor inserts two fingers into the vagina, presses the lower abdomen with the other hand to feel the presence of lumps and check the size, shape and location of the uterus and ovaries.
